Ireland is a very special place. It’s rich in folklore and mythological history that includes tales of great battles, warriors, ancient Gods and Goddesses and Irish revolutionary heroes. Its heart is alive with thousands of years of history just yearning to tell its stories. Stories that have been told over and over again by the great poets and Bards of our past. Once you’ve visited Ireland and marveled at the magnificent scenery and natural beauty, you’ll find yourself wanting to return, for the voices of the past will keep calling you back. It is a known fact that past invaders of Ireland (Vikings, Normans, Anglo-Irish) quickly assimilated into the culture and basically became “Irish”. They learned to speak the language, became engrossed in the culture, beliefs and practices, and developed a fondness for the local Brew, not to mention the quick Irish wit. Anyone who visits Ireland today can fall victim to this. Ireland is truly a mystical land that captivates the visitor and before you know it, you too have become engrossed in the spirit if Ireland. No matter what your ancestral background may be, once you step foot on Irish soil, everyone is Irish. -- Liz Guerra

Sacred Site Tours of Ireland
Have you ever wanted to travel to Ireland, the land of mystical tales, ancient Gods and Goddesses and legendary heroes? Now you can have the opportunity to come to the land of Eire, walk upon the 40 shades of green and marvel at the wondrous scenery. My name is Liz Guerra and I conduct sacred site tours to Ireland. The tours are usually 11 days/10 nights. These tours differ from your average Ireland tour because we focus on exploring pre-Christian sites such as burial cairns, standing stone circles, iron age forts, etc. These tours are centered around the Pagan spirituality of Ireland's past. So if you're looking for a tour of the Ring of Kerry or want to kiss the Blarney Stone, this trip may not be for you.
Please note, the sites that we will be visiting are mostly located upon hill-tops. Therefore, we will be exposed to the elements at times. You will need to dress warmly and be able to walk up steep hills. Again, this type of tour is not for everyone. This tour is not recommended for children.
(Prices for these tours are subject to change depending upon number of people traveling and itinerary).
Tour price includes:
- Round trip airfare from JFK International Airport (if traveling to and from another airport, prices may differ)
- Lodging with breakfast
- All transportation costs while in Ireland
- Entrance fees to the sacred sites (more details at booking)
- Round trip ferry to Inis Mór with 3 hour tour of island by a Celtic Priest
- It may or may not include a Medieval Banquet dinner
- It may or may not include a night’s stay at a haunted castle with dinner
Trip itineraries differ depending upon the group’s interests but visits could include some of the following, but not all: Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth, Loughcrew, Bunratty Medieval Feast and Folk Park, Rathcroghan Royal Site, Hill of Tara, Hill of Slane, Fourknocks, Tailteann, Uisneach, Carrowmore, Carrowkeel, Creevykeel, Inis Mór, Cliffs of Moher, Burren Region, Lough Gur, Connemara Region, Biddy Early’s Homestead, Brighid’s Cathedral and her sacred wells/flame and visit with Brigidine Sisters, evening tour of Fore Abbey, Ross Castle, Galway City, Dublin City.
The tours usually take place around Samhain (Celtic New Year, October 31st) and include a Samhain Ceremony with Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone at the ancient site of Tlachtga. (See Hill of Ward link for more details). We usually land in Shannon Airport and depart from Dublin Airport so that a good part of the country can be seen. For the most part, we’ll be staying in B&B’s that are located in rural settings, which adds to the experience and beauty. I make all the arrangements and set up the itinerary so that your visit will be a memorable and enjoyable one. This is a complete stress free vacation and one where you learn quite a bit about Ireland’s culture and history. (Please note that most of the sites we will be visiting are located upon hilltops, which require a bit of walking to get to. With this in mind, please also note that we will be exposed to the elements. Weather in Ireland in late October can be quite chilly, windy and rainy. This is a specialized tour, which focuses on exploring these sites. This type of tour is not for everyone).
